If you’ve found yourself here…welcome

If you’ve found yourself here, chances are your oven isn’t working, you’re sick and tired of not knowing what to cook and there is nothing decent in the supermarket in the ready meal aisle that’s worth paying a fortune for. Maybe you’re sharing a kitchen with five people who don’t know how to wash up or only cook noodles (see photo) and still manage to set the fire alarm off.

How does this even happen? Anyone fancy some dinner?

Oh and you’ve also ended up in Glasgow, the best city in the world, but not so much for it’s expensively priced supermarkets or culinary delights (hint hint, looking at you Morrisons in Partick and the tiny Sainsburys at the end of George Street. )

Unless you’re a lucky sod who lives in Morano Halls and you live next to a massive tesco, if you don’t live near an Aldi or Lidl,  managing a normal and cheap diet here can be tricky, particularly when a trip to the nearest supermarket can involve hauling your bags onto the bus and having to move every five minutes to give up your seat and that is sometimes miles away.

However, there are ways around this. Hopefully on this blog you’ll find what you’re looking for whether it’s recipes, budgeting tips, which supermarket is worth ordering from online and the endless mystery of students who can buy their dinner in the Waitrose on Byres Road.

So hold tight… we’ll get you cooking, budgeting and meal prepping in no time. In the meantime, clean your kitchen, take out the bins or something. Clean the surfaces. Take out all those pizza boxes that never fit in the bin and buy some good binbags (you don’t want the horror of the rubbish breaking on the stairs.) Someone will have to eventually.

Cheers,

Flora
